January 18

To All,

Happy New Year and all the very best to you and your loved ones for 2014.

On January 15th I had my 8th chemo treatment post-operation.
I expect to have further treatments at least to the end of February.

It will be up to my oncologist on how many more.
The treatments are my insurance policy so I have no reason to complain.

I have a 2 week  cycle with chemo on a Tuesday.
I am getting to know better what I can and can not do during this cycle.

The cold weather does not allow me to get out much.
I can not afford to get sick.
I am doing my best to avoid germs.

A good tip I received recently was when traveling on an airplane: take a window seat.
The aisle seats have the most germs on them as many people touch them as they walk up and down the aisles.

I made a decision when I was diagnosed that I would stop doing my volunteer work as I had to think of my health first but I truly miss it.
I enjoy helping others and working together with such wonderful organizations and people to make our community a better place to live in.

I am now slowly getting back to doing my volunteer activities but I have to be selective at the beginning.
The time of meetings influence what I can and can not do.

I am hoping to participate with my Family in the Alzheimer's "Walk for Memories" on January in memory of my Father, Zeev Vered.
My Father was a great man and a great role model for me, for my wife and for my kids.

Liz will be the judge of how long I will be able to walk.

I know each of you are approached for donations on a regular basis and it is great that you give willingly.

Below is the link to my website for the  "Walk for Memories"and if you wish to donate in memory of my Father that is greatly appreciated.

You are all so wonderful.

The reply emails I receive are so inspirational to me and just reinforce my battle against cancer.
I am blessed with such a remarkable Championship team, thank you.

Be healthy, be happy and truly cherish what you have.

Lots of love,

Arnie
